Mick got started because of Elvis Presley. He was maybe 9 or 10 years old. He put a belt on a tennis racquet and would mime the records in front of a mirror. Since that time he has become one of the most revered players in modern jazz, teaching such luminaries at Pat Metheney, John Scofield, and many others, and has published many seminal books on improvisation.
