Glenn Mercer is the former lead singer/guitarist/composer of the Feelies, the influential, Hoboken-based, alternative band. Their debut album, Crazy Rhythms, was voted 49 in the top 100 albums of the 80s by Rolling Stone magazine and chosen by Spin Magazine as 49 of the best Alternative records of all time. Glenn Mercer has struck out on his own, recently releasing his first solo album, “Wheels In Motion.” Glenn's live band includes former Feelies Vinny DeNunzio (drums). Jim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun-Times states that the Feelies influence on such current bands as the Strokes and Yo Le Tango is obvious and goes on to cite, "this year, the Feelies' co-founder, lead guitarist and vocalist released his first solo album, and it was as hypnotic and melodically infectious as his old band at its best."
The proceeds from this show are going to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition.
