Persian Blue

Persian Blue is made up of some of Boston and New York's finest musicians. The music has been described as "smooth jazz", but this may be a misnomer. Their influences span alternative/indie rock to Persian folk and the melodies suggest that. One can hear lines that are as beautiful as traditional and ancient Persian 7 tone music to cutting edge indie rockers like the Cure and Joy Division with strains of classical and impressionist composers such as Wagner, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky. Of course, you won't find that in each piece. The writing is cohesive and focused. It is the theme that dictates the mood and tonalities. Each track is unique unto itself.
